Approaching the end of a year is always a great time to reflect; not just on the bad, but on the positive things that have happened too.
2015 has been a life changer for me. I began the year already working on my fitness but in January, I stepped it up a notch. I completed Kayla Itsines’ BBG 1.0 and 2.0; I didn’t think I’d get past 4 weeks if I’m honest.
Since then, I’ve tried many different fitness programmes, started running again, set myself new challenges and found a love for weights. Now working with JbFitness.uk, I’m challenging myself more and more every week with the help that I need to keep improving.
This year, I’ve discovered how to eat well. I’ve discovered how to eat more than I’ve eaten but healthier and definitely not lacking in taste. Telling yourself that you can exercise out a bad diet is easy; A lot easier than doing it – you physically can’t do it! As soon as I learnt this, I noticed a huge difference.
I’ve had a great year fitness wise, I’ve learnt so many new things about my body, how it works, what works for me and what doesn’t. I’ve set myself constant challenges and I may not have reached all of them but that’s the best bit – you never stop working!
I’m stronger and fitter than I’ve ever been physically – mentally, fitness has made a huge impact too. It’s made me a more confident person. I’ve achieved things that I never believed I could – for example, in January I couldn’t do one full body press up, let alone double figures!
I could write a list of things that have gone right and wrong in 2015 but what I will be reflecting on this New Year is the positive changes I have made to my own life. I started this blog in January 2015 to follow my own journey but almost 13,000 views later, it all seems more than worthwhile! To some bloggers that’s a days work, to me that beyond what I ever imagined, I hope that a few of those views motivated you to get up and do something that made a difference!
Don’t wait for someone to change your life. Its your life for a reason, only you can achieve what you want to achieve! Set your goals for 2016 today, make them realistic and do whatever it takes to stick to them – you’ll thank yourself for it one day.
Happy New Year to you all!
