Sometimes life can take a bit of an unexpected turn and everything can seem like it’s crashing down – although its not something you expect to happen at the age of 23! I’ve not blogged for about four weeks for many reasons around this, but I’m back with a positive outlook, positive fitness goals and one hell of a fitness plan.
A few weeks ago a friend contacted me about being a test for his upcoming online personal training. Having been stuck trying to find the right fitness programme for me since finishing Kayla Itsines 1.0 and 2.0, I jumped at the chance of some help and guidance!
I’m into my second week of training with JB Fitness and it’s an absolute killer, but with 6 weeks until Christmas, there won’t be any complaints from me (except the days I’m struggling to walk ha!).
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be posting updates on my programme and some of my favourite workouts too. The programme is consisting of both running and weights. I aiming for 10 miles by Christmas and lifting heavier weights than I ever have before, in order to reduce body fat and increase muscle definition.
My favourite workout so far has been LUCY500 which consisted of, completing the following four exercises in the fastest time possible. My arms have always been my weak spot so 100 push ups killed me, but i’m pleased to say I finished it in 26 minutes (this will be retested along the way to see how I improve)!
- 200 Bodyweight Squats
- 100 Push Ups
- 100 Sit Ups
- 100 Dips
One thing that has helped me to get going again with an exercise routine, is to remind myself how far I have come already. This time last year I couldn’t do one full body press up let alone 100 in one day.
I took a progress photo for the first time in about three months to give me a nudge and it certainly worked. There may not be a huge visible difference to some people but mentally and physically, I feel amazing in comparison to a year ago. Here’s to pushing myself (with a little help and guidance) in the fast run up to Christmas!
