So week 12 was a write off. As I mentioned in a few blog posts recently, I pulled a muscle at the top of my leg/groin and it’s been quite severe.
Last Friday it was so bad I couldn’t lift my leg up the stairs so I had to force myself to stop for the week and really think about what I was putting my body through.
I was recommended to a friends’ physio and went for a 45 minute session on Wednesday. It was truly a great help and as I suspected, it’s just an overstrained muscle which needs strengthening, with a plan that I’ve been given.
I’ve never considered physiotherapy when I’ve had injuries before, but if you have one, I would honestly recommend it. I only had to attend one session and I now have a plan for a few weeks.
I will be moving my week 12 Kayla sessions to this week and catching up on what I’ve missed.
The silver lining of me not exercising much this week has meant I’ve really considered what I’m eating and made sure I don’t cheat at all and feel super guilty. I’ll be posting a mass-recipe review post this week after a weekend of amazing cooking!
What have I learnt from this injury? Sometimes you can overdo it. You need to listen to your body and when it’s telling you to stop! What’s great about my physio plan is that I can fit the exercises into my usual routine. I’m feeling much more recovered today and I’ll be back onto Kayla’s week 12 legs tonight – wish me luck!!
